Liz Tollefson, MS, CCC-SLP
Liz graduated with a Bachelor’s in Communicative Disorders in May 2016 from The University of Alabama and Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology in December 2017 from Baylor University. She joined the Care Center team in November 2018 following the completion of her clinical fellowship in pediatric home health. One of her favorite things about working at The Care Center is working alongside parents to help their children meet their goals. She loves creating lasting relationships with her patients and their families. In her free time, Liz enjoys fostering dogs, running, and traveling.
Taylor Williams MS, OTR/L
Taylor joined The Care Center in July 2019. She is originally from Britton's Neck, SC. She received Bachelor's of Science in Health Science from Clemson University and a Masters in Occupational Therapy from Medical University of South Carolina. She is trained in Interactive Metronome and has been working as an OT for 2 years. She enjoys working with the pediatric population and seeing their small accomplishments week by week. In her free time, Taylor loves playing with her dogs, playing volleyball, going to Clemson football games, and anything outdoors along side her future husband 'Coop'!
Becci Johnson, COTA/L
Becci graduated from Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC in 2006. She moved to Simpsonville after getting married in 2007. She joined the staff of The Care Center in December 2008, and has been here ever since, with the exception of a brief move to the Charleston area in 2010. She married her husband, Brett, in 2007. They have 2 daughters, Stella (7) and Olivia (2). When she is not busy trying to keep up with her girls, Becci can be found in Charlotte cheering on the Carolina Panthers with Brett during football season. She loves working at The Care Center and considers the staff family.
DeeAnn Wright, PT
As a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina and a practicing pediatric physical therapist of 30 years, DeeAnn Wright offers both practical knowledge and professional experience. She maintains that the most valuable tools in patient care are compassion and empowerment. It is her desire to help each of her patients achieve their fullest potential and reach their own personal goals. Believing in the power of a good support system, DeeAnn works to builds a team for each patient, comprised of consulting physicians, therapists, caregivers and other professionals to provide superior treatment and encouragement.
Melanie Newton, PT, DPT
Melanie has been a Physical Therapist at The Care Center since 2008. She graduated from Carson-Newman College with a B.A. in Biology and East Tennessee State University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Her desire to work with children developed throughout high school and college, and especially when she volunteered at a summer camp for children with special needs. She has received training in Aquatic Therapy and enjoys working in this environment at The Care Center. Melanie is from Easley, SC and enjoys living back in the upstate of South Carolina now. She enjoys running, gardening, playing soccer, and traveling and camping with her husband, Evan and son, Ashby.
Christie Hardy, RPTA
Christie Hardy joined the Care Center in July of 2015 as a Physical Therapist Assistant. She has over 18 years experience in pediatric physical therapy working previously with Saint Francis Outpatient Pediatrics, and Greenville County Schools. Her favorite part of working with kids is their amazing smiles when they learn a new skill. Christie is a 1993 graduate of the College of Charleston with a BS in Biology while playing volleyball. Christie graduated Wren High School and continues to live now in the Powdersville community with her husband David and teenage kids, Kate and Jackson. They enjoy many sports activities together, tailgating Clemson games, playing basketball, volleyball, or skiing at the lake.
Allison Burgess, MSP, CCC-SLP
Allison joined The Care Center family in October 2017. She received her Masters in Speech Language Pathology from the University of South Carolina. Allison enjoys working with the pediatric population and helping each child reach their potential. Allison is certified in Interactive Metronome which addresses timing, rhythm, and attention to tasks. She was born and raised in Pickens, SC and even though she attended USC she remains an avid Clemson fan. She enjoys spending time with her family and playing with her dog, Penny.
DeeAnn is heavily involved in the clinical rotations of several reputable universities and enjoys sharing her love of PT with other aspiring students. She continues engage in her community, volunteering for various organizations and serving as a patient advocate, even outside of typical work hours. Those who know her best would attest to her sacrificial love of people and diligence in going above and beyond all expectation.
Outside of her professional career, DeeAnn is an active member of her home church and avid lover of family time. She is the loving and devoted mother of an active son and studios daughter. In her free time, DeeAnn likes to spend afternoons searching for treasures in thrift stores with her mother and daughter, traveling with her family to the mountains, watching her son run and cheering for the Clemson Tigers.
Connie O’Neill, OTR/L
Connie O'Neill is a registered Occupational Therapist who graduated from St Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa in 1993. She began working in a hospital inpatient rehab setting where she stayed until her husband moved them to Peoria, IL in 1996. They settled in that area up until 2012 when his job again moved them to South Carolina. While in Peoria, she worked in a great amount of settings including outpatient orthopedics, home health, and skilled nursing. It was in 2004 when pushed to change from adults to pediatrics for greater flexibility did Connie find her passion for working with kids. She worked in the School Systems in Central, Illinois up until their move. They had 4 children to move and she dedicated the next 9 months to settling them in a new state with new schools. She then discovered The Care Center, applied, and here she is! She has a special interest in working with children on the Autism Spectrum. She also loves working with kids and learning from them daily. In her spare time she enjoys going to her kids activities, exploring the Greenville area, and relaxing with family and friends.
Shannon Barnett, MS, CCC-SLP
Shannon is a native of Greenville, SC. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Presbyterian College in 2005 and Masters in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2007. She has been working in the field of pediatric speech-language pathology in the outpatient setting and came to work at The Care Center in August 2010. She has received training in PROMPT technique, Oral Placement Therapy with Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson, Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECS), Food Chaining for feeding disorders, and Interactive Metronome. She loves to work with a variety of diagnoses and speech-language disorders. When not working, Shannon enjoys spending time with her husband Chris, son Everett and dog Steely Dan. She loves traveling to the beach and to the lake and cheering on the Clemson Tigers!
Lauren Crapps, MSP, CCC-SLP
Lauren joined The Care Center in September of 2015 after receiving her Masters in Speech Pathology from University of South Carolina. She got her undergrad degree in Spanish and International Health from Clemson and remains a devout Tiger fan. Lauren enjoys being a pediatric speech therapist because of its rewarding nature and the relationships built with the patients and their families. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and all things Clemson.
Jessica Davison, COTA
Jes lives in Spartanburg, SC. She married her husband in May of 2019. She knew that she wanted to work with the special needs population after working closely with children at McCarthy Teszler while in high school. Jes graduated from Greenville Technical College in November of 2018. She worked previously in home health pediatrics until joining The Care Center in November of 2019! Her favorite part of OT is being able to watch children become more confident in themselves when they accomplish new skills. In her spare time, she loves to spending time kayaking, camping, and being with her fur babies!
Brandie Sharp, PTA
Brandie joined The Care Center in 2019. She is originally from Utah where she worked for 4 years bringing a total of 9 years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Brandi graduated from Utah State University with a BS in Exercise Science and Loma Linda University with an Associates degree in Physical Therapy Assistant. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews as well as time out outdoors. She is very excited to be a part of the TCC family.
